TeraVolt Energy, founded in 2013, is a successor company to a former commercial electrical contracting company originally founded in 2002. In 2007, the prior company entered what was then an infant solar market in Texas, and was one of the original approved solar contractors for CPS Energy. In 2009, a solar installation company was split off from the electrical contracting company where founder James A. "Hoss" Boyd, LtCol, USAF (Retired), served as CEO. That company built small to medium sized solar projects in Central Texas, and was succeeded by TeraVolt Energy. TeraVolt, with its new solar development business model, has moved to a higher level by focusing on larger commercial solar, energy storage, and manufactured energy system projects Internationally.
